Weekly Weigh In - Down 1.75 Pounds
I tried some new recipes last week, which I loved, but I am not able to share just yet. I still can't Find my Weight Watchers slider/points calculator, so I just eyeballed it or winged it last week.
I lost 1.75 pounds last week--possibly more. I weighed myself today at 10:30 a.m., so I could be a tad heavier than when I First wake up and run down to the scale. Considering I Flew by the seat of my pants last week without being able to Figure my points, I'm happy with the 1.75-pound Figure.
I also spent most of the week with unplanned meals and cranky-to-be-back-to-school kids. I ate some Fast Food the day I had to run my daughter to an oral surgeon for a consult an hour away after school because her wisdom teeth are coming in. From there, we visited my sister and my mother and got back home around 10 p.m.
I also had a naked chicken burrito from Qdoba during the week, which I know is okay on days where I've kept my breakfast and lunch points minimal. Naked means sans tortilla wrap.
So with two Fast Food nights for me, no points calculator, cooking some new recipes, drinking pop, and weighing in at mid-morning I consider an almost two-pound loss a huge positive. There, I think that is the end of my diet confessional.

Weigh In Month End - January
I did it! I surpassed the DietBet 4% goal for two bets I participated in and have now lost 10.3 pounds! I don't know yet how many winners there are nor how much I have won.
Not sure I like having to check in with them, but then again, I was definitely aware that not sticking to my points plan would mean I could lose $50. I didn't like them posting to my Twitter feed, so I'd turn that off next time I think. Their auto posts were a little too "markety" and condescending on my behalf (i.e. not sure I can do it - come cheer me on type statements). A little too close for comfort, considering I only lost 1.2 pounds more than required. I might do another. I'm not sure. I think I will try a month on my own right now.
Have you ever used DietBet? Did you win or lose or both (win at losing)?

Weekly Weigh In - Week 3
I didn't lose and I didn't gain. I maintained, which is a plus. I've been sick for 4 days now and haven't felt like eating or preparing food in any way, shape, or form. It is what it is right now.
I've taken in a lot of orange juice, which happens to be Freakin' delicious for some reason right now, but overall, not enough intake I guess to promote a loss.
My poor husband's birthday was this weekend. I tried to make him his favorite pie, pumpkin pie, instead of cake and ice cream. As I was putting the overly full pie shells into the oven, ever so gingerly, trying to balance them, I burned my finger and spilled quite a bit all over the inside of the oven and door in that painful, jerk-your-hand-away-from-heat moment where it registers in your brain you just burned yourself. Then, as I was trying to remove the pies, the top rack hit the bottom pie and mangled it pretty good, which just topped off the overly darkened edges due to the spill.
He knew something was up and appreciated my mangled attempts when the detail-oriented me left the plastic on the sweet husband card I picked out that clearly said "Remove Plastic", but especially so now that he's getting it. lol
Has anybody else ever been successful at losing weight, any weight, if even a single pound, during illness and how? I'm just not going to worry about it right now but am curious.

Weekly Weigh In - Week 2
Two pounds down this week. Not as good as last week, but it's a loss. The weight usually falls off quicker in the first few weeks. It's kind of like that old saying "The bigger you are, the harder you fall." Well, the bigger you are, the more weight you lose at a faster rate.
Never be disappointed about a loss. Do yourself a favor and find something of equal weight to your loss and hold it in your hand, then if possible find more things that add up to your total loss if you're feeling discouraged. It's amazing how big it looks when it's sitting in your hand and envision it falling off of a single part of your body. ;) It's how I encourage myself.
My challenges this week were dinners with the family and trying to eat without journaling. I tried the MyFitnessPal.com site, but I found it too time consuming to create meals. It's quicker for me to just journal on paper. I slept in a few days and that messed up how much time was left in the day to eat all my required food. A couple of days I didn't meet my allotted points.
One thing I considered a huge victory this week was having delicious and huge frosted cinnamon rolls in the house. I'll admit to licking the frosting off the knife after I cut them up, but I'm proud to share that I didn't eat a single bite of those delicious thangs!
What do you do to keep yourself encouraged?

Weekly Weigh In - Week 1
I'm down 4 pounds!
I probably could have done better because I still had a little pop over the weekend and my first week was a 6-day week from Tuesday to Sunday night since I weighed in Monday morning. How'd you do?

Weekly Weigh In - Week #27
So the soluble stitches I had really caused me some grief this last month, so much so that I wound up being a bit of a couch potato and totally slacked on feeding myself appropriately along with the family. I just wanted to get mealtime over with and go soak in the tub again.
I'm feeling pretty good and am back on the NutriSystem wagon with my latest delivery of supplies, as of yesterday.
I somehow managed to lose a pound despite eating things like pizza and ice cream. Granted, I didn't treat myself every day, but if I didn't want to deal with thinking and planning for myself, let alone prepping more food, I just had what the hubs served up.
Ready to get back to the business of losing!

Derailed for a Minute
Okay, it's been more like a week. I got myself so worked up about a surgical procedure pre-op, I just didn't focus on my diet. It didn't help that I'm down to about 23 dinners and 12 desserts and am out of breakfast and lunch entrees. I did a couple of days of making my own meals for those first two of the day, but found myself stress snacking totally distracted by the upcoming procedure. Am I a big old baby? Not really. I was all worked up because I've never had a procedure, I'm a control freak and was having a hard time knowing that I would be unconscious and unable to have input should any problems arise during the procedure, and because the risks associated with anesthesia and obesity...I am, afterall, not up to snuff, and that worried me greatly.
The good news is I survived and am recovering quickly. Now if I can just get my sleep schedule turned back around....sleeping during the day seems to keep me up all night.
